Ralph Chadis Not Your Typical Bard, will tell of Ima Shalom - a Jewish woman during the fall of the Second Temple (70 CE).  RALPH CHADIS "Not Your Typical Bard", will observe his birthday by telling about "The Oven of Akhnai." How did a rabbinic argument about a bread oven change Judaism? What rabbis were arguing? What were they like? How did they live? Why did they banish one of their own? Yes, it's that oven.

RALPH CHADIS calls this medley of Passover stories, "From Yavneh to Oberlin." The Passover Seder is unchanged. Its meanings are the same. But, these days, in many places, in many ways, it is fundamentally different. Oh, and "Not Your Typical Bard", will observe his birthday.

RALPH CHADIS tells The Legend of Bithiah. Some 3,000 years ago this daughter of a Pharaoh found a basket in the Nile with a baby in it. Be astonished at who the child becomes. Be amazed at whom she befriends. Be stunned at whom she marries. Be shocked at where she goes and with whom. This is truly biblical.

Ralph Chadis Had his 79th birthday recently. He will observe this with an ancient tale of frightful terror involving the Scottish Other-world; his own tale of intrigue set in 19th century Boston; and if time allows, his new imagining about a Pharaoh's defiant daughter. (Will be Hybrid from Havurat Shalom)
