Boston Area Monthly Potluck & StorySwap...
This is one of the oldest Storytelling communities in the
Country. It grew out of a storytelling event held on the Cambridge Common
back in the summer of 1976, as part of the Bicentennial. Attendees had such
a good time, they went out for dinner afterwards, and agreed to keep meeting
on a monthly basis. Every month, usually on the first Sunday (unless there's
a holiday), the group meets at the home of a volunteer host, somewhere in
the Boston area. After a hearty potluck dinner, the chairs are put in a circle,
and the Storytelling begins. Depending on attendance, the time limit varies,
but it's usually at least 10 - 12 minutes. It is a warm, supportive environment
for Tellers of all abilities, and feedback is by request only. For more
information, or to get on the mailing list, contact
Miriam. [Quintessential]
